CE Requirements

RNs, Nurse Practitioners, LPNs and Nurse Midwives

Registered professional nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and others, such as advanced registered nurse practitioners (ARNPs) and nurse midwives, who are licensed in Florida, must complete 25 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years.

As part of these 25 contact hours, at least 1 contact hour of AIDS/HIV, 1 contact hour of Domestic Violence and 2 contact hours of Preventing Medical Errors must be completed through a Florida State Board of Nursing approved provider, such as Alene Burke & Associates.

A one (1) contact hour End of Life Care course can be substituted for either AIDS/HIV or Domestic Violence.

A 3 contact hour AIDS/HIV course, through a Florida State Board of Nursing approved provider, is needed if you are a new licensee or you are reinstating your nursing license.

If you are not licensed in the State of Florida, please check with your State and/or accreditation body to determine if our courses meet their mandates. Many states and accreditation bodies accept courses approved by other states.
