Alene Burke & Associates is led by Alene Burke RN, MSN, our company president, who is a nationally known and recognized nursing leader in healthcare education and competency. She has authored countless, competency based self-study courses for virtually all health care providers and has served as the director of organization wide education and nursing inservice education departments for large and complex medical centers that provide broad scopes of care.

Alene has presented many seminars and workshops across the country to large groups of healthcare professionals, including nursing educators, about the adult teaching and learning process, JCAHO's requirements for education and competency, how to assess educational needs with data, how to drive educational activities for entire organizations that are based on actual need rather than tradition, and how to evaluate the outcomes of education in terms of patient outcome and other aggregated data variables.

Her most recent publication can be found in the February, 2000 issue of Nursing Management, where she presents a step-by-step "How to Accomplish Organization Wide Competency & Education". Additionally, she has just finished serving as a member of the American Nurses Association's ACCC task force chartered with the challenge to develop an Innovative Approach to the ANCC Accreditation Process.
